The death of Mr. Leslie Lightburn Mattingley occurred recently in the Toowoomba General Hospital, at the age of 62 years, following a long and painful illness. Born at Sale Victoria, Mr. Mattingley spent the greater part of his life in Toowoomba, where he was employed in the Railway Department as assistant locomotive foreman. During the First World War he saw service overseas with the A.I.F. He was of a happy disposition, and was popular with his fellow employees.
Mr. Mattingley is survived by his wife, and three married daughters - Mesdames L. Ryan and M. Long (Toowoomba) and W. Courtney (Jandowae).
