Add my storyBiography contributed by Kathleen Brown
My dad was the 3rd son of Ceclia And Henry Ritchie, who enlisted in WW11, after his father fought bravely for this country during WW1. He never spoke about his time in the service too many bad memories I believe. I remember looking through his medals, and he had a Japanese sword. a souvenir effect I suppose if you could call it that, it still has blood stains on it. Anzac Day tormented him, as I suppose it did to a lot of soldiers.
when the war was over he was in the occupation forces in Japan. He wanted to take mum over there but sadly this never eventuated.after he returned home he married my mum who he met at Cloudland at the dance. They had 3 children of which I am the youngest.
