Private Edgar Neville Rix (Service No:Q102950) enlisted in the ACMF on 21 December 1941 and was attached to 105 Reserve Motor Transport Coy before transferring to 113 General Transport Coy on 21 August 1942. Private Rix then transferred to 2 Marine Food Supply Platoon and served  at Salamaua in New Guinea from 13 May 1945 to 2 May 1946 - 2 Marine Food Supply Platoon provided fish for the Australian General Hospital and 112 Convalescnet Depot at Besami Beach in Salamaua (Australian War Memorial). Private Rix embarked from Rabaul for Sydney on board the Ormiston on 2 May 1946 and was Discharged on 4 June 1946.

Born in 1923 in Brisbane QLD, Nev was the son of Edgar Gilbert Rix (b1891 at Lanefield, Ipswich, QLD) and Ilean Eliza Seawright (b1896 in Brisbane, QLD). Edgar Snr (a Machinist) and Ilean married in 1918 in Brisbane, QLD where they settled and raised their family - Edgar Snr died in 1934.

Nev attended Ascot State School in Brisbane and then Brisbane Technical College,and was working as a Motor Mechanic when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1941. Following his Discharge in 1946, Nev returned to Brisbane where he lived with his mother and worked as a Motor Mechanic. In the mid 1950s Nev married Gloria Maureen and the couple lived in Brisbane where Nev worked as a Motor Mechanic until the mid 1960s. By 1968 Nev had joined the Public Service and he and Gloria had settled in Cairns where they lived for a decade before moving to Labrador on the QLD Gold Coast. Nev died in 2005.
