Corporal John Perrett Stewart (Service Nos:QX59864/Q107380) enlisted in December 1943 and was attached to New Guinea Force Signals when he Discharged in November 1945.

Born in 1910 in Brisbane QLD, John was the youngest of two children of James McLean Stewart (b1881 in Lanarkshire, Scotland) and Sarah (Sadie) Sophia Beavis Perrett (b1881 in Ipswich, QLD). James had emigrated in 1883 with his parents, arriving in Brisbane QLD on board the Duntrune. James was a Jockey in Brisbane QLD when he and Sadie married in Ipswich in 1909. The couple settled in Brisbane where James was a Horse Trainer before serving in WWI (Service No:4210). WiA in France, James was not employed following his Discharge.

John worked as a Clerk in Ipswich and in 1944 in Brisbane QLD married Matilda (Nell) Ellen Barnfield (b1914 in Brisbane, QLD). John and Nell settled in Brisbane QLD where John worked as a Technician until retirement in the mid 1970s. They relocated to Maroochydore, QLD where John died in 1996. Nell died in 2007.
