"THE LATE PRIVATE W. J. FLYNN.
Mr. and Mrs. D. Flynn, of No. 1, Symonds-place, Adelaide, has been notified that their eldest son, Private W. J. Flynn, was killed on November 5 in France. Private Flynn was 19 years of age, and at time of enlisting he was serving his apprenticeship with Messrs. Marshall and Co. as a cabinetmaker. He was of a bright and happy disposition, manly and upright in all his dealings, and by his lovable nature endeared himself to a large circle of friends." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 23 Dec 1916 (nla.gov.au)
