Son of Andrew and Catherine PURDON, Childers, Queensland.
News has been received that Lance corporal James Purdon, youngest son of the late Mr. A. Purdon, and Mrs. Purdon, Childers, died of wounds on August 22. The late L. Corporal Purdon was a native of Dalby, but of late years had been cane farming in the Isis. He enlisted on November 8, 1916, was promoted to Lance-Corporal on the field on January 22, and company N.C.O. on April 4. He had gone through some of the heaviest fighting in France.
