22 Sep 1916: Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, For service at FAUQUISSART on 18 and 19 July 1916, he went to 'No-man's-land', and assisted his Officer to adjust a push pipe which had become mis-directed. The leads had been cut in several places by shell fire, and he showed the greatest courage in adjusting them.
