Biography contributed by Carol Foster

Son of George William and Georgina Russell of 'Avoca', Meade Street, Glen Innes, NSW; brother of Mrs. M.H. Purdue

Prior to enlisting he was a member of the Glen Innes Rifle Unit

Russell, who was a member of the teaching staff of the local Church of England Sunday School, was of a quiet, unassuming disposition, and his passing away will be deeply  regretted by a large circle of friends.
