His parents were Henry Thompson DOWNE & Mary Taylor LAING

1. Harry Leslie DOWNE (SN 42) - returned to Australia in1918 and also served as a Lieutenant during WW2 (SN W142) - discharged 15th January, 1943

2. Reuben Milton DOWNE (SN 3305) served during WW1 in the 14th Infantry Battalion and returned to Australia in 1919
