Robert Creigh WILSON was born in Sunbury in 1884.
He was living in Sunbury when he enlisted on 22/7/1916 in Melbourne. He listed his occupation as Labourer.
He left Australia on 19/9/1916 aboard the HMAT Commonwealth as part of the 6th MG Company reinforcements.
He was transferred to the 2nd Machine Gun Battalion as a driver and fought with this group until 21/1/1918 when he was kicked by a mule and damaged his patella.
After recovering he returned to Australia on 17/2/1919 and was discharged on 27/3/1919.
He commenced working at the Sunbury Asylum and stayed there for the rest of his working life.
Robert died on 13/8/1961 and is remembered at the Fawkner cemetery.
