His parents were Sydney Arthur SHEERMAN & Catherine HOUSEMAN

Two of his brothers also served in WW1

1. Hubert John SHEERMAN  (SN 63857) - returned to Australia in 1919

2. James Duncombe SHEERMAN (SN 902)  - discharged in 1917
