Thomas William Bray served in the South African (Boer) War as a Private S.N. 192 in the 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry, and served again in WW2 as a Private S.N. Q124306 albeit on the home front in the Volunteer Defence Corps (sources AWM Boer War Nominal Roll, Murray p. 471; and National Archive Australia WW2 service records).
