Alfred C Bristow spent 6 years with the Naval and Military Expeditionary Force, served in New Guinea, New Britain and the German Solomons. Digger Bristow left South Australia in the early days of the war joining C Company under the command of Captain Ogilvie of the contingent of the Naval and Military Expeditionary Force to leave Australia. He was doing garrison work in Morobe, New Guinea, Rabaul, New Britain and Kieta, German Solomons.
