Biography

Richard William Robinson,  was born 19 July 1884 at Callibris Station (noted by his mother)
and raised in the bush.

19/9/1919   Mother advised - father,  John Robinson, who lived at Yuleba, Queensland, had died.
mother - Maida Ann Robinson remarried (to her sons disgrace)
              new name Maida Ann Mulholland, living at Crane Street, Longreach, QLD

In 1915 he joined the AIF,  along with his two brothers and went to war.

                   as a 4th Light Horse Brigade, 11th Light Horse Regiment, A Squadron

3/6/1916      Taken on strength as Shoeing Smith for ANZAC Police, Abbassia

13/10/1916   Promoted to Shoeing Smith (Farrier) Corporal - ANZAC Provost Corps

8/7/1918      Helipolis to Cairo
11/7/1918     Cairo to Jerusaleum

1/10/1918     Promoted to E R / Farrier Sergeant - ANZAC Provost Corps

His wife died while their family was still quite young.

Unable to cope Richard fostered out some of the younger children while the older one's headed off into the world to make their own way.

2/6/1958   Richard passed away from illness - in Ipswich, Queensland
buried in:  South Brisbane Cemetery, Plot 8C, Grave 54C.
