James Francis Chapman was born in 1865 at Colac, Victoria, a son to William Chapman and Agnes Chapman (nee Symons). He married Annie Elizabeth Esther Brockett on 2 Sep 1901 and they had 3 children. They lived in Ipswich, Qld where he was a railways worker.
