WAR VETERAN
HOBART. A Boer War veteran, Lt.-Colonel Maynard Hayes Cruickshank, died at Hobart on Saturday. He was 71 years old. Colonel Cruickshank, who served in the Boer War and the First World War, was secretary of the Tasmanian Club. He was born at Poonah, India, but came to Australia as a young man. He served in the World War with a unit from New South Wales, and was a retired member of the Australian Staff Corps. Colonel Cruickshank is survived by a daughter (Mrs. D. J Jackson, Ulverstone) and a son (Mr. K. H. Cruickshank, Hobart). His funeral tomorrow will be conducted with full military honors. A service will be held at St. Paul's Church, Glenorchy.
