Also served in WW1, Private S.N. 2603, 4th Pioneer Battalion, AIF.

He was born Friedrich Deuble and went by the anglicised name of Frederick Deuble.

When Frederick Deuble enlisted in 1901 for the Boer war in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as Mrs. M. Deuble, Toowoomba. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 150, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his mother Mrs. M. Deuble, Glen Vale, Toowoomba.

He enlisted again in 1916 for WW1 and on his Attestation Paper, dated 26 May 1916, it is noted that; he was born at Toowoomba and was 36 years 5 months of age; he was married and was a farmer, his N.O.K. was his wife Mrs. Christina Catherine Deuble, Kurrumbul via Goondiwindi, Qld; and he had previously served with the 6th Qld Contingent in South Africa.

Friedrich Deuble was born on 6 Apr 1878 at Toowoomba, a son to Christian Deuble and Mary Deuble (nee Riethmuller). He married Christine Catharine Friederike Wieden on 10 Dec 1903 in Queensland and they had 3 children.
