Graham Doyle was born on 4 May 1877 at Brookfield, Queensland, a son to George Doyle and Julia Doyle (nee Splaine). He married Harriet Pellat on 17 Aug 1904 in Queensland and they had seven children.
He had been a hotelier at Mossman in North Queensland and also engaged in tobacco growing at Mareeba. He returned to Brookfield where the family engaged in mixed farming.
He may also be the G. Doyle S.N. 537 who enrolled in South Africa with the 5th Queensland Imperial Bushmen- possibly prior to the 4th contingent returning to Australia but this has not been verified.
