Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Cootamundra Herald 29 September 1916. IN MEMORIAM.

(Killed in action, Somewhere in France, July 28, 1916, Arthur G. Adamson, of Cootamundra and Hay.)

Somewhere in France my noble son Is resting now, his duty done, He faced the deadly shot and shell, And in the stress of battle fell; The best he had to give he gave And now he fills a hero's grave. Somewhere in France my brave boy lies In far-off lands, 'neath alien skies, No stone is raised above his head, No words inscribed: 'Here lies one dead, Whose history will go down to fame, As one who nobly played the game.' Somewhere in France! Our sad hearts roam To where my boy sleeps far from home; And, though his face we cannot see, We hold him dear to memory, And leave him safely, in the Hands Of Him Who knows and understands. Somewhere in France! Alas! Alack! We cannot bring our loved one back; But we will meet again some day— The parting is not for all way; And in our dreams e'en now perchance We'll see our boy somewhere in France.

 — Mother.
