It appears the Boer War nomonal roll records the surname incorrectly as Heaslip, all other records noted below record it as Heaslop.
When William George Heaslip enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his details were published (under the name William George Heaslop) with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his father G. Heaslop, South Brisbane. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 5th QIB, Bk 2 p. 81, he is recorded as William George Heaslop.
William George Heaslop was born on 10 Oct 1872 in Queensland, a son to George Heaslop and Elizabeth Heaslop (nee Cockerill).
