Thomas Edward Jarmain was born Percy Thomas Edward Jarmain on 6 Oct 1880 at Paddington, London, England, a son to Thomas Edward Jarmain and Mary Jane Jarmain (nee Dominico). 

He married Mary Colgan on 27 Feb 1917 at the Joyful News Mission, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane and they had three children.
