When Oswald Ker Jones enlsited in 1901 and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his father Rev. T. Jones, Indooroopilly. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 5th QIB, Bk 2 p. 140, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his mother Mrs. F. S. Jones, Indooroopilly.

Oswald Ker Jones was born on 11 Dec 1879 in Queensland, a son to Thomas Jones and Frances Sophia Jones. His father, Rev. Thomas Jones, served as the minister at All Saints' Church, Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill. Oswald married Lucy Bull on 25 Oct 1919 in Queensland. They were residing at Riverview Terrace, Indooroopilly, when he passed in 1950.
