George Lambrose (Lamrose) was born Alexander Constantine Lambrose in 1883 in Victoria, Australia, a son to George Lambrose and Ellen Lambrose (nee Cronican). He moved with his parents to Brisbane, Queensland, at an early age. He married, under the name of George Lambrose, Mary Ann Coote on 3 Apr 1907 in Brisbane and they had one daughter. He had worked at The Brisbane Labor Daily Newspaper Company for 23 years and was known as a "good labor man".
