Private John Daniel McIntosh enlisted with his cousin 1051 Private John Thomas McIntosh (/explore/people/788101) in the 5th Victorian Mounted Rifles. Having joined together they both have consecutive numbers.

McINTOSH.— On September 2 (suddenly), John Daniel, the dearly beloved husband of Alice McIntosh, of 54 Stewart-street, Brunswick, and loving father of Glen and Claire (Mrs. Thorn), and father-in-law of Myrtle and Frank (R.A.A.F.), aged 66 years.
