Boer War and World War I veteran Lieutenant-Colonel Kenneth McLennan MBE died yesterday at the age of 83.  Colonel McLennan served in the Queensland Mounted Infantry in the early 90's.  He joined the Queensland Permanent Staff later and left for the Boer War in November 1899.  After that war he resumed with the Queensland Permanent Staff.  He was then transferred to WA.  During World War I he served in Gallipoli, France and Belgium and returned after the armistice with the rank of Major.  He retired with the rank of Hon. Lieutenant Colonel in 1927.
