Son of Charles and Frances Pentecost of 309 Bexhill Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex. Brother of Edith Pentecost of Arblour, Bamshire, England and Albert Pentecost who also served with the British Forces having enlisted at Kent, England

He was a member of the Maryborough Branch,QLD of the Independent Order of Oddfellows
