James Henry OWERS was born in Cooma, NSW on 1st August, 1882

His parents were James OWERS & Margaret McDONALD

He served with the 3rd NSW Imperial Bushmen & the 2nd NSW Mounted Rifles during the Boer War

He returned to Australia and enlisted for WW1 on 3rd November, 1915 and embarked from Sydney with the 18th Infantry Battalion, 8th Reinforcements on the HMAT Aeneas on 20th December, 1915 - he returned to Australia on 4th May, 1917 and was discharged on 29th August, 1917

James died in Sydney on 19th August, 1939 & is buried in the Catholic Section of Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney
