Memoriam Notice for John Thomas (Jack) Bourke inserted by three of his sisters in The Examiner newspaper, page 1.
BOURKE.—In sad and loving memory of our dear brother, John Thomas Bourke,late of Kimberley, killed in action in France on the 4th October, 1917.
We always think of you, dear Jack,
And think of how you died;
'Tis sad to know you passed away
With no one by your side.
You leave behind sad, aching hearts,
That loved you, oh, so dear
Hearts that never can forget
The memory written here.
There came a shock, an awful pain,
And the world has never seemed the
same;
To have, to love, and then to part
Is the saddest story of my heart.

May, and Alice, Melbourne
