When Arthur Joseph Spreadborough enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his father J. Spreadborough, Warwick. In the Boer War Service Paybooks 6th QIB p. 185, held by the Qld State Archives, he gave his address as Dragon St, Warwick.

He also served in WW1, Private S.N. 3433, 5th Light Horse Regiment AIF. When he enlisted in Apr 1917 he noted on his Attestation Paper he was aged 38 years 1 month; was born at Warwick; worked as a Works Overseer; previously served in the Boer War in the 6th QIB; was married with 1 child; and his N.O.K. was his wife Ivy May Spreadborough at Dragon St, Warwick.

Arthur Joseph Spreadborough was born on 13 Mar 1879 at Warwick, Queensland, a son to John Spreadborough and Ann Elizabeth Spreadborough (nee Glasby). He married Ivy May Houghton on 31 Dec 1913 at Milton, Queensland and they had 4 children.
