Biography

Returned to Australia 22 January 1919

Farmed in Alford at "Oak Farm". Married Ada Vera Prouse. Had six children to Ada (known as Vera). Lola (dec), Lloyd, Keith (dec), Fay (dec), Ron and Merle (dec). Vera already had a son, Les (dec). He was brought up in Adelaide and did not make contact with his siblings until he was a young adult. 

Vera died in childbirth in 1938, after giving birth to her eighth child, who also died. Clem continued to live on the farm with his five youngest children and was helped by a series of housekeepers. He eventually married one of his house keepers - Adeline Kuhn from Adelaide. Together they had a further four sons. Barry, Norman, Raymond and Rodney. Norman died in a farm accident as a young boy.
