27 Aug 1915: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 289, 18th Infantry Battalion, ANZAC / Gallipoli, Shot in the right elbow, evacuated to Mudros (on the Greek Island of Lemnos), then to a military hospital at Bethnal Green (England). His wound healed well and he returned to France via Alexandria in March 1916.
