Found Shot
Boer War Veteran
Michel John Ware, 59, of Westridge, Canberra, was found dead in bed at his home early on Friday morning. He had a gunshot wound in his chest and a shotgun was found nearby. Ware had been in ill-health for some time and was to have gone to Sydney to receive medical treatments, The late Mr. Ware, who was a Boer War veteran, came to Canberra in the early construction days and made his home at Westridge. He was well known in sporting circles, particularly as a committee member of the Manuka Football Club.
