Pte 1517 George Brian Bennett was killed in action on 20 May 1915 when serving in the trenches at Steele's Post, having arrived on Gallipoli on 8 May 1915.

Originally buried at Brown's Dip, his remains were re-interred at Lone Pine Cemetery following the armistice.
