Biography

Enlisted in ARA on 21st February 1966. 

After recruit training at 1 Recruit Training Battalion (RTB), then Infantry Corps training at the Infantry Centre, Ingleburn; applied to join the Airborne Platoon, RAR at the Air Support Unit at RAAF Williamtown.

Completed Basic Parachutist Course at the Parachute Training Flight (PTF), then selected to join the Airborne Platoon.

Applied to join the SAS Regiment and completed the SAS Cadre (Selection) Course in November 1968.  Posted to 1 SAS Squadron.

In October 1969, joined 3 SAS Squadron as a reinforcement on their second tour of Vietnam.

Re-joined 1 SAS Squadron in February 1970, when they arrived in Vietnam for their second tour.

In October 1970, returned to Australia and was posted to 2 RTB as an instructor.

Applied for, and was discharged from the ARA on 17th December 1971 to take up civilian employment.
