Biography

Bruce Ada was born in 1919 in Drummoyne to parents William Leslie ADA and Erica Maud ADA nee FLOWER and was their second son and third child.

He attended Fort Street Boys High School and then attended Hurlstone Agricultural College and Teaching College to become a teacher.

He enlisted in the RAAF in May 1942 soon after the loss of his elder brother Allan on a submarine patrol in the Bay of Biscay.

MBE - For courage, determination and devotion to duty in successful air sea rescue flight service under hazardous conditions in the Pacific during offensive operation in the Far East over a period from March to August 1945.
