Bill Shepard was a founding member of the North Glenelg sub branch. His service to the branch included as a committee man in 1957, Hon. secretary 1958,59,60,65,68,87,88; Vice President 1961,62,68; Immediate Past President 1964, Treasurer 1965; Welfare Officer 1966,67,84 to 87; president 1963,80,81,84,85,86,90,91. He was also the President and then secretary of the Hospital Delegate Welfare Officer 1969 to 1982. He was awarded a Life Membership of the RSL 20/11/1981 and in 1992 a Meritorious Medal the highest RSL award in 1992.
