"...2650 Private Ernest Rewell (Rulle) Dalziell, 48th Battalion, of Maddington WA. A wood machinist prior to enlisting in May 1916, Pte Dalziell embarked from Fremantle on board HMAT Port Melbourne (A16) on 30 October 1916. He arrived in France for service on the Western Front in February 1917 and was killed in action at Bullecourt, France, on 11 April 1917, aged 19. Pte Dalziell was one of three brothers who enlisted: 2626 Sergeant George Christopher Dalziell, 16th Battalion, was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal and returned to Australia in 1919 and 2806 Pte Walter Edward Dalziell, 51st Battalion, was killed in action at Pozieres, France, between 14 and 16 August 1916." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
