Corporal Bramley Goodridge (Service No:WX35098) enlisted in the AIF on 26 September 1941 and was attached to 2/48th Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 7 February 1949.
Born in 1922 at Bramley Siding nr Coawaramup in the Margaret River region of WA, Jack was the tenth of eleven children of Ernest Goodridge (b1882 in Surrey, England) and Caroline Lowder (b1883 in Kent, England). Ernest (a General Shop Dealer) and Caroline (a Wardrobe Dealer) married in 1900 in Kent and lived in Surrey where Ernest was a Marine Shop Dealer. In 1914, Ernest and Caroline immigrated to Fremantle WA with their five children, arriving on board the Australind - Ernest stated his occupation as Labourer. In 1915 when Ernest enlisted in the AIF (Private; Service No:3837) the family was living in Collie WA where Ernest was a Plasterer and Driver. Following his Discharge in 1916, the family settled in Perth and Ernest worked as a Fireman until the early 1920s when he was awarded land at Bramley Crossing nr Cowaramup WA under the Group 17 Settlement Scheme. By the late 1920s the family had returned to Perth, where Ernest worked as a Storeman.
Jack was a Labourer in Perth when he enlisted as Bramley Goodridge in the Army in 1941. Following his Discharge, Jack worked as a Barman in Perth and Pingelly, then as a Labourer in Perth in 1950 before working as an Undertaker and Cabinetmaker. Jack died in 1983.
