Son of William H. and Eliza Eager of Yass, NSW. Brother of Charles E.F. Eager, Mary E. Eager, Alice L. Eager, William Henry who returned to Australia on 6 November 1918 having served with the 1st Battalion Eager, Walter Francis Eager who was killed in action on 27 March 1918 while serving with the 18th Battalion. Walter is buried in the Lindedhoek Chalet Military Cemetery. Special Memorial Row B, Grave 5, Ruby Matilda Eager and Muriel Eager
