After the war ended, Mr Jack Caple returned to his home in Warrnambool and married his fiance Shiela (1920-2000), and fathered four children, working at the famous Fletcher Jones for 33 years at Warrnamboool.
In 2012 he moved to Melbourne to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He now lives at "Classic Residences", Brighton East and enjoys a busy social life filling his days with trips to the city and lunches.
“I also speak to children at primary schools about the war and show them photos and my helmet I used to wear,” He said.
