Corporal Harold John Anderson (Service No:6211) enlisted in the AIF at Ballarat, Victoria on 29 May 1916 as a Private attached to 8th Infantry Battalion Ballarat. Private Anderson was attached to 6th Infantry Battalion on 11 September 1916 when he embarked with his Unit from Melbourne for Plymouth on board HMAT A14 Euripides. Private Anderson served in France before being hospitalised in England with Dysentry. Promoted to Corporal on 20 January 1919, he embarked from England for Melbourne on 8 September 1919 on board HT Raranga. Corporal Andersonw as attached to 6th Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 11 December 1919.

Born in Beaufort, Victoria in 1898, Harry was youngest of ten children of Henry Littlejohn Anderson (b1852 in Selkirkshire, Scotland) and Julia Wilkinson (b1854 at Bacchus Marsh, Victoria). Henry immigrated with his parents and siblings in 1855, arriving in Geelong, Victoria on board the Marchioness of Salisbury. Henry was a Farmer at Buangor in 1881 when he and Julia married in Ararat, Victoria. Henry and Julia lived in Buangor before settling in Trawalla where they raised their family and Henry was a Farmer.

Harry was a Clerk (Telegraph Operator) in Trawalla when he enlisted in the AIF. Following his Discharge, Harry worked for the Railways in Stawell, Dimboola and Melbourne, where he died in 1928.
