John (Jack) Westwater BLYTH was born in Townsville, Queensland on 2nd October, 1888
His parents were John BLYTH & Agnes Todd WESTWATER who married in Townsville on 2nd August, 1887
He enlisted in Townsville on 27th February, 1917 as a Private with the 1 Depot Company - listed as a Gunner with the Field Artillery on 17th May 1917, a Private on 8th June 1917 & Driver 12th June, 1917
Jack was taken ill and admitted to hospital on 2nd July, 1917 & didn't get to embark for overseas
He died of Broncho Pneumonia in the Liverpool Field Hospital, Military Camp, Sydney and is buried in the Liverpool New Cemetery (Ref C 137)
