Francis Hoddinett VAIL was born in Windsor, Victoria on 6th January, 1900
His parents were Francis Ernest VAIL & Julia Emma SCOTT who married in Victoria in 1895
He enlisted with the Royal Australian Navy on 31st December, 1913 as a Cadet, Midshipman and worked his way up to Sub Lieutenant
Francis died in St Vincents Hospital in Sydney on 10th July, 1921 and is buried in the Brighton Cemetery in Victoria along with his parents
