Retired as a Colonel 

 As you will note, he is the only soldier/officer that I know to have legitimately worn all three berets, Red-Green and Sandy. He commanded 1St Cdo Regt ’82-’84.  

He died on the 30th September of a massive heart attack. He was a bloody good mate. - John Taske.

Phillip served for 30 years as an Infantry Officer in the Australian Army. He had a wide variety of command, training and staff postings, including active service in South Vietnam and exchange duties in the UK. He commanded at Squadron level in the SAS Regiment and was Commanding Officer of the 1st Commando Regiment. Upon leaving the Army, Phillip was the Regional Manager of a national credit union for 10 years, before being successfully involved in business. Philip joined the Board of the General Douglas MacArthur Foundation in 2008, and was appointed Deputy Chair in 2018 - MacArthur Museum Brisbane
