WW2

Moyle lived with my family and I remember the following.

He stated to us that in WW1 he enlisted in the Royal Navy and worked as a stoker in ships of the fleet.
After the war he plus many of his family emigrated to Australia and settled in West Australia. At the declaration of war he enlisted in the AIF and was allocated to the 2/16th Bn. The Battalion served in North Africa and Palestine, and later returned to Australia after the Japanese declared war on the world at large. In New Guinea they fought over the Kokoda Track, Gona Beach, Markham Valley and Shaggy Ridge and at the end of the war they were part of the force which invaded and captured Balikpapan. He ended the war as a Lance Sergeant and discharged in 1946.
After the war, he came to Adelaide and worked until retirement and death in an engineering firm.
