Son of Donald MacKayand Mary Anne MacKay nee Sutherland of 'Galloway Hills', Norman Park, QLD.
Brother of Ronald Stuart Mackay who returned to Australia on 5 Arpril 1919 having served with the Army Service Corps; Alexander Sutherland MacKay who died of disease while serving in the Australian Field Artillery on 18 December 1918 and was buried in the Turin Cmetery, Italy
