Leslie Victor Roberts was the 4th of 6 children of Charles Roberts and Lily Lavinia Tanner. Leslie worked in Perth, Western Australia as a Motor Mechanic, Plasterer and Fitter prior to enlisting in the RAAF in 1940.

In July 1944, Corporal Roberts was commended for brave conduct (31/44), and in July 1944 was commended for Gallantry (ABO p7/44)

Following his Discharge on 12 November 1945, Leslie lived in Perth, Western Australia and worked as a Plasterer with the Perth Public Works Department, and then as a Mechanic.

Brothers George William Nelson, Albert Charles, Francis (Frank) William, and Ronald Portlock Roberts also served in the Australian Defence Forces in WWII
