Baines (Bingo) Chillagoe McCormick Titmarsh was the youngest of 7 children of Isaiah Titmarsh (born at Redbank Plains in QLD) and Gertrude Ethel Baines (born at Redbank Plains in QLD). Isaah and Gertrude were living in Kalbar in Boonah QLD in 1927 when Bingo was born - Isaah was then a Dairy Farmer, and had previously worked as a Station Hand and Horsebreaker in the district, a Gold Miner in Coolgardie WA, and a Labourer and Iron Ore Carrier before Dairy Farming. Bingo's older brother Aleaxander Carrington Titmarsh died as a Japanese PoW in the sinking of the Rakuro Mayu in 1944.

Bingo enlisted in the RAN in Brisbane QLD in 1945 and served as a Stoker III (Service No: B5416) on HMAS Cerberus, Moreton, Adelaide, Hobart, Penguin until 1947.

Following his Discharge in 1947, Bingo was a Farmer at Waraperta via Kalbar, Boonah in QLD, then as a QLD Rail Employee in Bundamba, Ipswich, QLD. By the 1960s Bingo had moved to Brisbane QLD and worked as an Engine Driver and Greenkeeper until his death in 1992
