Arthur (Bill) was the second of three children of Frederick George Brown (born 1874 at Rosewood in the Darling Downs in QLD) and Sarah Jane Cawthray (born 1879 in Brisbane, QLD). Bill was five years of age when his mother died in 1910, and his father remarried Sarah Rosalie Haun in 1913. Bil's half brother Frederick was born in 1914.
Bill's younger brother Roy served in the RAAF (Service No: 24768). Bill was living in Amberley, Ipswich QLD and working as a Labourer when he married Ruby Beckwith (born 1914 in Flinders, QLD) in 1935. The couple continued to live there where Bill worked as a Labourer,
In 1942 Bill enlisted in the RAAF in Brisbane, QLD and served as a Leading Aircraftman - General Hand (Service No: 79057) until he was Discharged in 1945.
Bill and Roby continued living at Amberley where Bill worked as a Labourer. He died in 1980 in Booval in Ipswich, QLD and Ruby died in 2000 in Ipswich, QLD
