Born at Leighton Bridge, County Carlow, Ireland on the 10th October 1878 to James and Bridget Cummins; husband of Amy Amelia Cummins nee? (married ?, died 1940), Joseph enlisted January 1917 at Brisbane, Queensland.

Mr Cummins did not return home until May 1921, being discharged from duty 22nd July 1921.
I have not as yet located Joseph’s name inscribed on any known War Memorial or Roll of Honour.

Mr Cummin’s headstone gives us no indication of his service with the 1st A.I.F., so I have placed poppies and a 1914-1918 WAR label in remembrance, supplied by Andrea Gerrard and John Thomas.

This gravesite for a Lieutenant Colonel of the 1st A.I.F. and his wife is in urgent need of restoration, so I am hoping for descendants to be made aware and act accordingly.
Service record states Died after Discharge.
Lest We Forget.
